The Stitcher

Written by Super User. Posted in The Machines

In a quest for ever increasing velocity, the young company decided to build their own multi-cylinder engine and placed it in this, their fourth model, called, 'The Stitcher.' It was named such after the owner of the first machine was partially decapitated after the front forks collapsed under the heavy weight and vibration of the new motor.

Fortunately for all, this first owner survived and his machine was retroactively modified (at a reasonable cost) with the new beefed-up girder forks which were to be used on all future Phantoms. The frame was also reinforced to carry the added weight of the new motor. And though the machine's high centre of gravity allowed it to drop quickly into bends, its relatively short wheelbase made it rather unstable at speed. Examples of the Stitcher were rare back in their day, but this Vintage Motorbike is extremely rare and sought after by collectors today.
